The Roadmap Leads Back to Atlanta
At 11:00 a.m. local time, with members of the media in Chattanooga in attendance, Spain’s internationals made their way down the steps leading to the national team’s training pitch at Baylor School. Following the first fifteen minutes of the session, which were open to the press, the squad continued its preparations behind closed doors as it fine-tuned plans for its second Group H fixture of the FIFA World Cup.
Spain will once again take to the field at Atlanta Stadium, where it will face Saudi Arabia at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, 21 June.
The session took place in challenging conditions, with temperatures reaching 27°C and humidity levels around 80 per cent. Lasting just over an hour and preceded by gym work, the training focused on continuing preparations for the crucial group-stage encounter. Later this afternoon, the delegation will travel to Atlanta, where the team will remain ahead of Sunday’s match.
The national team’s schedule on Saturday, one day before the fixture, includes a mixed-zone media session at 9:30 a.m. at Kennesaw State University, followed by training at 10:30 a.m., with the opening fifteen minutes accessible to the media. Head coach Luis de la Fuente will then hold the official pre-match press conference at 4:45 p.m. from the match venue itself.
