After a journey of just over an hour and a half, the Spanish national team travelled from the Ciudad del Fútbol — their training base since the start of the camp — to A Coruña, the city hosting tonight’s final match on Spanish soil before the squad departs for North America.

Prior to departure, and following the official team photograph in Madrid alongside RFEF president Rafael Louzán, the national side received a warm send-off from more than 250 schoolchildren from local schools in Las Rozas — CEIP La Encina, CEIP Los Jarales, and CPEE Monte Abantos — who formed a guard of honour to the team bus, cheering the players on and wishing them success in their upcoming intercontinental challenge.

After the flight, the entire delegation was welcomed by hundreds of supporters both at the airport and at the team hotel, where the Agarimo de Catabois bagpipe band provided a musical reception for a special occasion, which the players acknowledged with autographs and photographs.

Fan zone and walk to the stadium: a major celebration for the national team in A Coruña.

Riazor will host the Spain vs Iraq match at 21:00. The World Cup journey is drawing ever closer.
