Tierra de Sabor, New Official Sponsor of the Royal Spanish Football Federation
The Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas hosted, on the afternoon of October 9, the official presentation of the agreement reached between the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Regional Government of Castile and León, through which the “Tierra de Sabor” brand becomes the official sponsor of Spain’s men’s, women’s, and Under-21 national football teams.
The sponsorship agreement, which will extend over the next three years, was presented at the RFEF headquarters in an event hosted by the President of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Rafael Louzán, and attended by the President of the Regional Government of Castile and León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco.
Also present in the Luis Aragonés Hall at the Ciudad del Fútbol were representatives of agri-food companies, associations, and Protected Geographical Indications affiliated with the Tierra de Sabor quality mark. The Tierra de Saborbrand brings together more than 900 companies, united under a label that connects economic activity with the roots and traditions of Castile and León.
Joining the event were the President of the Castile and León Football Federation, Marcelino Maté, and Spain national team players Unai Simón and Jorge de Frutos, both of whom have personal ties to Castile and León.
On behalf of the RFEF, President Rafael Louzán expressed his enthusiasm for the agreement, describing it as “wonderful for all parties.”
“We have sealed a beautiful path for the next three years; from now on, we will serve as a vehicle to promote the extraordinary products of Castile and León,” he said. “This partnership will allow us to showcase the excellence of this region to the world.”
Representing the Regional Government of Castile and León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco highlighted not only his excitement at becoming the “new flavor of the national team,” but also his pride in the growth of Tierra de Sabor, “the spearhead and vanguard of our regional products.”
“We want to offer consumers quality, trust, and excellence — the same values that the national team delivers to its supporters,” he emphasized.
Since its creation in 2009, the Tierra de Sabor brand has been driving the agri-food industry of Castile and León and stands as a symbol of excellence and authenticity for the region’s products. The agri-food sector of Castile and León encompasses 2,800 companies (900 of them under the Tierra de Sabor umbrella), with over 45% located in rural areas — a figure that rises to 95% among Tierra de Sabor companies — in an industry that employs more than 40,000 people.
