Vicky López Wins the Golden Talent Award for the Second Consecutive Year
Vicky López has made history once again at the London Palladium Theatre this evening. The Madrid-born player has repeated the achievement she secured in 2025, when she became the first female footballer to win the award.
This time, the FC Barcelona star beat a host of other young talents from the international game, including Dutch player Veerle Buurman, Sweden’s Felicia Schröder and American Lily Yohannes, as well as her Barcelona and Spain teammate Clara Serrajordi, another of the brightest emerging talents in European football. Having two Spanish players among the five finalists underlines the exceptional strength of the country’s emerging talent.
With Spain, Vicky has made 23 international appearances and scored nine goals—remarkable figures for a player who turned 20 last July. During the 2025/26 season, she helped Spain win their second UEFA Women’s Nations League title, scoring one of the goals in the final against Germany at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Her influence was particularly significant in Spain’s qualification campaign for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. She featured in every match, recording four goals and three assists and establishing herself as a key member of Sonia Bermúdez’s side.
Her performances for FC Barcelona have been equally outstanding during a season in which the club won every available title. The Catalan side lifted the Liga F, UEFA Women’s Champions League, Copa de la Reina and Spanish Super Cup, with Vicky contributing 45 appearances, 12 goals and 13 assists to the team’s success.

Vicky López’s rise has been meteoric. Since breaking into the elite, she has continued to grow in stature, becoming one of Spanish football’s greatest assets and one of the players expected to lead the national team in the years ahead. Her talent, ambition and personality on the pitch embody the bright future of a team that continues to aim for the highest honours.
Vicky’s next major challenge in a Spain shirt will be the 2027 World Cup in Brazil, where Spain will seek to reclaim the world title and secure their second star.
Lamine Yamal Wins the Men’s Award for the Third Consecutive Year
With her second consecutive award, Vicky further cements her place among the biggest names in world football and extends Spain’s proud record in this category. In the men’s competition, the award has also recognised her compatriots Lamine Yamal, winner in 2024, 2025 and 2026; Gavi, honoured in 2022; and Pedri, who won in 2021.
