A day full of warmth for the national coach in Ceuta
Luis de la Fuente, invited by the President of the Ceuta Football Federation, Antonio García Gaona, visited the Autonomous City of Ceuta for a day filled with affection for the Spanish national team coach.
Early in the day, De la Fuente was welcomed by the President of Ceuta, Juan Jesús Vivas, at the Assembly Palace. During the visit, the coach signed the Book of Honour, one of Ceuta’s most symbolic institutional documents, where visiting dignitaries and public figures leave their signatures. President Vivas expressed his gratitude and congratulated the coach from La Rioja for the successes of the Spanish national team.
De la Fuente then made his way to the Church of Our Lady of Africa, where he made a floral offering to the city’s patron saint and spent a few moments with the Government Delegate in Ceuta, Cristina Pérez Valero.
Later, the national coach visited the sports facilities of the Ceuta Football Federation, where he met with the federation’s staff and held a short press session with local media. He also had the opportunity to view the facilities of the region’s highest football authority first-hand.
In the afternoon, Luis de la Fuente gave a talk at the Revellín Auditorium, attended by coaches, players, and football fans. He shared personal stories from his professional career and emphasised the importance of training and teamwork in sport.
The day concluded at dusk with a visit to the city’s military authority and a special flag-lowering ceremony in the iconic Plaza de África—a solemn and symbolic act expected to draw a large crowd.
Luis de la Fuente’s visit to Ceuta has been described as a great success, helping to strengthen the bond between the national team and the city, and leaving a positive impression on the local football community.
