A photo that makes history
Football, at least as it should be understood, is about unity. If rivalry is taken as something natural, sport should be understood as a way of bringing people together, regardless of their origins. That is why this Tuesday's Spain-Brazil match, already a great game, will have a global impact as both countries unite in the fight against racism, a social scourge that must be eradicated. Because, in football, the only colour that differentiates us is the colour of the shirt.
"One skin" is the motto under which this friendly match is being played, with the two teams and all their members committed to it. That is why on the eve of the match, in close collaboration between the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Brazilian Football Confederation, a history making photo was taken with the participation of Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal, Vinicius and Rodrygo at the Santiago Bernabéu, the ideal setting for such an important match.
The four players shared a few moments of total harmony and wished each other luck for the clash. Between hugs and smiles, with sportsmanship displayed at its best, they also wanted to send an unequivocal message with this snapshot: there is no place for racism in football.
