A team forged from passion and technology
"My professional dream is to continue enjoying what I do every day". With this simple but powerful mantra, coach Blanca Romero ensures the players of the women's national team in New Zealand aspire to excellence with their physical fitness.
The dazzling Spanish display of skills in their World Cup opener has a lot to do with the national team's coaching staff’s work. A big part of this is thanks to the passionate work of this coach from La Mancha.
Jumping platforms, resistance training with the aim of pushing metabolic stress, the best machines and the use of metadata are all part of Blanca's daily work to place the national team at the forefront of football in terms of the use of performance-enhancing technology.
The physical trainer sums it up in one sentence: "When you have a group of players at the highest level, you have to ask yourself how to find the key that manages to optimise their abilities even more so that they can give a little more". This rigour, enthusiasm and meticulousness is benefiting Spain during a World Cup destined to be a memorable one.
