It was just a few minutes past midnight and the Spanish national team's dressing room had something else to celebrate. After 120 minutes of breathtaking action and a penalty shoot-out for the ages, the qualification for another UEFA Nations League final four was followed by Álex Remiro's birthday celebreations.
The national team goalkeeper blew out the candles on his cake surrounded by his team-mates on his 30th birthday. ‘It's a dream, I've already had the present’ were his words at an unforgettable moment, which he accompanied with a wish: “We're going to win this trophy”. A happy birthday that began with much to celebrate.
