A very special visit before travelling to France
The Olympic National Team trained for the final time in Las Rozas on Tuesday morning before heading to France. Santi Denia's coaching team and players received a very special visit, as Luis de la Fuente, newly crowned European champion, wanted to stop by Pitch A at the Ciudad del Fútbol to talk to all of them and wish them the best of luck for the Olympic tournament.
Luis de la Fuente knows perfectly well the challenge facing the Olympic team. He won the silver medal at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo and, for this reason, he passed on his experiences to those who will soon become Olympians in search of a dream: ‘We have very nice memories of the Games. You are going to live a fantastic experience and we are going to be here to give you a boost and spread positive energy’.
The national coach, after winning Spain's fourth European Championships, wanted to send a message of encouragement and hope to the players and coaching staff: ‘You know that I don’t make many mistakes. You are going to be Olympic champions and you are going to win the gold medal’.
