Al-Thumama, a one-of-a-kind design for Spain to make their debut

The Spanish national team will make their debut in the World Cup in Qatar in the Al Thumama stadium, which is located in the city of Doha and can hold forty thousand spectators. With an intricate exterior design in a circular shape that resembles the Gahfiya, a traditional woven cap, this stadium seeks to radiate the culture of the Middle East and the Arab world by taking the name of an indigenous tree that grows in the area.

Its ecological design guarantees the saving of 40% more fresh water compared to a conventional stadium. The enclosure has large parks that after the World Cup concludes will become a community center with facilities for multiple sports. The stadium will also host other matches in the group stage, round of 16 and quarterfinals. Check out more with this spectacular video!
