Alejandro Blanco visits the Olympic Football squad
The Olympic football team received a very special visit on Friday morning. Alejandro Blanco, president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, travelled to the Ciudad del Fútbol to show his support to Santi Denia and his players less than a week before their trip to France.
Pablo Lozano, vice-president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation and the person responsible for men's national teams, was in charge of receiving the president of the COE in Las Rozas. Lozano thanked Blanco for his presence with the internationals as follows: "On behalf of our president, Pedro Rocha, and the entire RFEF, we thank Alejandro Blanco for visiting our national team, for telling the players what they are going to experience at the Games and for conveying to them the greatness of what it means to compete at the Olympic Games".
For his part, Alejandro Blanco conveyed to the players his enthusiasm regarding the pursuit of football’s shared dream in Paris: "With football, both in the men's and women's team, we are super excited because the results support them. I think they are going to be very worthy continuers of the history of the gold medals in Barcelona and the silver medals in Sydney, Antwerp and Tokyo. We have sensational teams.
The President of the Spanish Olympic Committee also spoke of Luis de la Fuente's team, finalists at the current European Championships, and of the good state of Spanish football: "We have to be happy because we have the best football team in the world. I am convinced that after the European Championships we will return from Paris having achieved great success".
