The Second match for the Spanish national team at this European Championships in Switzerland and the second POTM award for Alexia Putellas. The Catalan midfielder opened the scoring in the 22nd minute and grabbed Spain’s sixth and final goal in the 86th to hand Spain their second win at the Thun Arena. In between her goals, the player from Mollet del Vallès provided assists to Esther González and Claudia Pina for Spain's third and fifth goals.
Following their brilliant opening match performance against Portugal (5-0), Montse Tomé’s Spanish side have not taken their foot off the gas and handed Belgium a resounding 6-2 defeat. Spain will finish off the group stage against Italy next Friday, 11 July, at 21:00.
