After morning training, Ayoze Pérez sat down in the Luis Villalonga Room at Las Rozas to answer questions from the media just one day before travelling to Denmark for the fifth match in the UEFA Nations League.

‘It means a lot to me, it's a very special moment, coming back home after so many years away and doing so with the national team is a very nice feeling. People are very excited that Spain will be playing here and are looking forward to it. I would like to take this opportunity to call on people to come to the pre-match training session in solidarity with the victims of the storms’, commented the striker when asked about his return to the island.

‘It's a very special moment to experience a national team match after so many years. The priority and the focus has to be on helping those affected by the flooding, but we hope to bring some joy to the islands,’ he insisted. When asked about injuries, he commented that ‘it's the life of a footballer, but we have to look for solutions for what is happening in all divisions’.

Ayoze stressed that ‘he feels very good on the pitch’ and that ‘he is very happy with his start to the season’. And about his best position on the pitch, ‘whatever the coach considers appropriate, I'll always be happy to help out and play’.

Regarding his goals at the start of the season, the Villarreal CF player confessed that ‘he likes being in and around the box, where he feels comfortable and his teammates can find him easily, that’s what it’s all about’. He also highlighted his team's ability to create chances.
