Jorge Vilda's team exchanged the green of the Gosford Stadium for that of Sydney on Sunday. During this match the Spanish internationals showed an impetus and commitment that characterizes them as a team.. However, the Australian strength made it impossible to obtain a positive result in the second match of the Oceanic tournament.

The goal from the yellow squad came in the 11th minute of the first half in a play in which Vine took advantage of a pass from Raso in the front to send the ball to the back of the goal. Just five minutes later, Australia came back with a vengeance. Polking collected a rebound in the box to surprise Misa. On the stroke of half-time came the third. Foord's header from the left flank showed just how effective the Matildas were.

After the locker room, the National Team completed a great second half in which they had a couple of chances to close the gap. Finally it was Olga Carmona who was able to score. The Real Madrid international took advantage of a rebound to score Spain's first goal. In the last breath of the match, Alba Redondo appeared to score the decisive 3-2.

With the defeat against Australia the internationals will face, with more morale if possible, the third and final match of the Nations Cup scheduled for next Wednesday, February 22.
