Copa del Rey 23/24 quarter-final draw match ups

The Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas has once again had a day full of excitement and expectation before the draw for the Cup quarter-finals, which are single-leg knock out matches, took centre stage.

The quarter-finals match ups for the Copa del Rey 2023/24 have been decided. The draw was held this Friday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas for what will be the last single-leg ties in the competition, as the semi-finals will be played over two legs.

Eight Primera Liga teams were anxiously waiting to find out their opponents after they survived an exciting round of 16. Last 16 victories for, in chronological order, Sevilla FC, Athletic Club, RCD Mallorca, RC Celta de Vigo, Real Sociedad, Girona FC, FC Barcelona and Club Atlético de Madrid secured these 8 top teams’ places in the draw. And the draw has produced the following pairings:

The Adidas Antwerp ball doesn't stop rolling; and the matches played next week will once again welcome its presence just a couple of steps away from the final that will take place in Seville on 6 April.

This is how the draw went

A musical performance by the artist Blon livened up the start of an event where, as usual at the RFEF draws, there was no shortage of live connections beaming the event around the world or household names to draw the balls. Blon's freestyle start received a great reception from those lucky enough to witness it.

As for those who selected the teams for the draw today, it was Germán "Mono" Burgos, Cup winner in 2013  and Julien Escudé, winner of the trophy in 2007 and 2010, who were in charge of revealing the balls from the pot.

The live connections were beamed to many places, first of all, to the Municipal Reina Sofía stadium in Salamanca, home of Unionistas CF: the Primera Federación team that went on a great cup run that ended at the Last 16 stage after losing to FC Barcelona. Álvaro Gómez, scorer of their stunning goal in the match against the Catalans, gave us some insight into the party that took place on an absolutely magical night of Cup football where spirits were hardly dampened by the defeat.

At the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros in Seville, Seville player Isaac Romero spoke to the RFEF. Also sharing their thoughts at the event were RCD Mallorca player Jaume Costa, from the Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio, and Girona FC's Juan Carlos Martín Corral, from the La Vinya training centre.
