Courtois, Man of the match in the first Supercopa semi-final

The Real Madrid goalkeeper was named man of the match after another Supercopa match to remember in Arabia.

The spectacular save with his right shoulder in the 111th minute from Fran Pérez's shot was crucial in the penalty shoot-out as well as his intervention in the fifth penalty from Valencia CF, which make the current Spanish Supercopa winners of the match with a place in the final.

Thibaut Courtois, voted Man Of The Match, was very humble in the King Fahd press room. "I think I didn't have that much work to do, but when they came on I tried to help the team," said Courtois. He also acknowledged that he was able to stop several good chances from Valencia in the final stretch of the game.

Regarding his condition at this stage of the season, he said that "after the World Cup, I feel 100% well and that’s noticeable. I'm trying to help the team as best I can". "I hope that I don't need to make any saves on Sunday and we finish the game with goalless," he joked.

As for the level of the team: "We must continue to improve, watch the video and prepare for the next game", he said. He has no preference about the opponent in next Sunday's final: "Barcelona and Betis are doing well, we'll see what happens, but it's going to be a beautiful final".
