The semi-final against France is already on the horizon and on the eve of the trip to Munich to play the match, Marc Cucurella appeared at a press conference on Sunday to share his thoughts on a game in which "we will have to be very focused, especially when we are attacking. I think that if we win the ball back quickly we'll have more chances and no matter how quick they are, if we're close to the ball we can counter them. The most important thing is that we play well".

The absence of Dani Carvajal at right-back for that game, together with that of Le Normand, will force Luis de la Fuente to restructure the defence for the match, which may condition the role of Cucurella, who has said he is "delighted to help in any role", while praising the role of the coach, who he sees as "the same as always and what he does very well is the management of the group. The union we have is something very nice. We have a special connection and a great team behind us and we want to give them something to cheer about".

The left-back always keeps the Spanish fans in mind and sees how "people enjoy us and we want to make them happy, but they will only remember us if we’re the champions. The way we will make the fans enjoy us is if we win the European Championships, and that is our ultimate goal.

At the same time, he is leaving the label of favourite for the press to assign, while acknowledging that "coming in as underdogs has been good for us because we have been gaining confidence and now we have to finish it off with our final effort".

Given this positive outlook, Cucurella believes that the secret to success lies in the fact that "we have created a very good group that mixes experience and youth. In these championships, it's better to have a cohesive team that is like a family. That's better than having stars," said the national team left-back.
