Dani Olmo pays his teammates a visit
The national team welcomed Dani Olmo, who suffered a shoulder injury while playing for his club RB Leipzig, with open arms on Tuesday. The international has not been called up for the games against Cyprus and Georgia this week, the last of the Euro qualifiers, for obvious reasons, but he did not want to miss the opportunity to come and support his teammates in Las Rozas.
"I'm happy to be here, to be able to see the team, the staff, and to be able to give them my support," said the striker. "It's nice to be here and to be with my teammates, I miss them. And I want to wish them luck in the two remaining games and to be back with them soon.
Olmo, a regular in recent times with the national team, told his teammates how the injury happened. "A fortnight ago, in a game, I went to one side and the opponent fouled me. I fell sideways, in the worst possible way. My collarbone came loose, I tore three ligaments and had to undergo surgery. Now I'm better, I'm recovering and trying to get back as soon as possible.
The player, who is very much loved in the dressing room and has performed excellently with the national team, is looking forward to watching a Spain team that left for Cyprus on Tuesday, where they will play on Thursday. On Sunday, at the José Zorrilla in Valladolid, they will host Georgia in the final game of this qualifying phase
