Dani Olmo: "We play for our fans"

The Spain star is confident about Spain's chances at the European Championships, saying ‘we are ready for anything’.

Dani Olmo spent five years at Dinamo Zagreb and considers Croatia "my second home", as he admitted during his press conference in Donaueschingen on Thursday.

The national team player praised the town where Spain's base camp is located during the tournament, stating that "we are in a privileged place because of the peace and quiet we can enjoy here. We are in the ideal place for this type of tournament. We are enjoying the experience and we are looking forward to the start of the European Championships.

A European Championships with Croatia first up in what will be the third time the player from Egara has played against the Croats, who, according to the Spanish star "are always in contention in the big tournaments and we will have to suffer against them. It will be a very even, tough match that will be decided by the smallest details".

His role in the team has been very important in the last few tournaments and he now describes himself as "a player who gives hundred percent. Whether I play or not, I'm there for whatever the team needs, whatever minutes I get. That's the strength of the group.

A group that wants to "start well and it is also important to stand up and be counted in the face of a draw or defeat".

"We are going to go out for the win from the start and we are prepared for anything. We are united, we are all pulling in the same direction and we also need the support of the fans. We are playing for them," he concluded while calling for the Spanish fans' support during the tournament.
