Date announced for the Copa del Rey Mapfre second round draw

The second round draw for the Copa del Rey Mapfre now has a date. Following the thrilling first round with 55 fixtures, the excitement of the competition continues. The teams that advance from the first round will enter the pots for the second-round draw, whose date has now been confirmed.

The draw will take place on Wednesday, 27 November, at 1:00 PM in the Luis Aragonés Hall at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas. It will be broadcast live on our official channels, as well as on Teledeporte and Vamos. On that day, we’ll discover the exciting pairings for this knockout tournament.

Joining the draw is RC Deportivo, who were exempt from the first round as winners of the Primera Federación last season. A total of 56 teams will be included in the draw, resulting in 28 matchups. The 28 winners of this second round will advance to the Round of 16. As in the first round, lower-tier teams from Segunda Federación and Primera Federación will face higher-tier teams from Primera or Segunda División wherever possible.

The draw will take place a day after the rescheduled matches postponed due to the recent floods in the Valencia and Castilla-La Mancha regions (Parla Escuela vs. Valencia and Manises vs. Getafe).
