‘De Kuip’, the stage where ‘the family’ was formed
‘De Kuip’ is considered a lucky stadium for the Spanish national team. It was there, in June 2023, that Dani Carvajal scored the final penalty against Croatia, securing Spain’s place as the winners of the third ever UEFA Nations League.
That night, Spain also became the most decorated national team in European football history, as no other country had previously won four continental titles (a tally that grew to five in June with Luis de la Fuente’s side lifting the European Championships).
Fabián Ruiz, who started in midfield on that unforgettable 18 June, now returns to the scene where he won his first trophy with the national team, alongside other key players from that magical night. This time, the opponent is the Netherlands, and the prize at stake is a place in the tournament’s Final Four.
“It was a turning point that gave us confidence.”
A special, unique stadium that will once again put Spain to the test in an electrifying football atmosphere.
