Education City Stadium, a ground-breaking venue for a place in the quarter-finals

The Education City Stadium, located in Rayan, will be the venue for the round of last 16 of the World Cup between Morocco and Spain. The stadium was completed in 2020 and it has a capacity for 45,000 spectators. This stadium belongs to the Qatar Foundation and it is surrounded by numerous schools, universities, cultural centres, museums... the stadium. It is noticeable that its "knowledge environment" was considered when it was built.

The ultramodern design of the stadium goes perfectly with the traditional Islamic architecture. Outside, triangles create complex geometric patterns similar to diamonds that shine as the sun moves across the sky. At night, a digital light show illuminates the façade, offering fans an astonishingly stunning performance.
