Wearing El Ganso and beaming to make history

The Spanish national team poses in a full dress two days before the World Cup debut.

Naturalists explain how every autumn the geese can be seen migrating to a warmer place. They fly in a V formation for victory. Scientists have discovered why the geese fly in a V. The reason is that each bird produces a movement in the air flapping its wings that helps the goose, which flies behind. In this way, the whole group increases its flying power by at least 70%, compared to the ones flying individually.

El Ganso is the fashion brand that dresses the Spanish national team and with the same team spirit as the bird that gives it its name, the team has posed this Monday in a family photo before they play their first match in the World Cup.

The president of the RFEF Luis Rubiales, the national coach Luis Enrique, the sporting director José Francisco Molina and the 26 called up players for the Qatar event smiled at the camera with the illusion, hope and ambition of taking a photo of a human group that will take Spain to the top in this spectacular World Cup.

El Ganso uses recycled materials in its manufacturing process, as part of the commitment to sustainability that it shares with the RFEF. The fabrics are sustainable in such a way that in the chaos of the uniform, they have been created with 100% recycled and recyclable polyester at the end of its useful life. They get more use because of the qualities of this fabric, with fewer washes, thus saving water and combating global warming.

In these hot days in Qatar, it is obvious that the national team will not wear a coat, but the internationals will wear a smart coat when necessary and outside a World Cup context. The outer material used for this coat is recycled and vegan 100% polyester and the inner fibre is Sorona. It is composed of 63% polyester and 37% plants, which in its manufacturing process reduces by 60% the emission of greenhouse gases. Both materials are water and wind resistant.

Considering all the characteristics of this sustainable uniform, it is time to put on the jersey again to face the first match on Wednesday against Costa Rica. It will be the first opportunity to be closer to the final on 18 December.
