Spain and Portugal incorporate Ukraine into 2030 World Cup bid

The project aims to inspire society through football, with a motivational message of solidarity and hope.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) have incorporated the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) into the Iberian Bid to host the 2030 World Cup. The bid has the unconditional support of UEFA in a global and transformative project for European football in an exceptional situation.

Luis Rubiales and Fernando Gomes, heads of the RFEF and the FPF, understand that there is nothing better than a World Cup to convey a powerful message that will be an inspiration for the future.

With the full support of Aleksander Ceferin, the Iberian Bid incorporates the federation led by Andriy Pavelko in order to build bridges and project a message of unity, solidarity and generosity from the whole of European football.

The bid strengthens the ties with Europe by generating hope and providing the Ukrainian people, who have expressed their pride and gratitude for participating in this project, with the necessary tools for reconstruction.

The World Cup 2030 Coordinating Committee, headed by Antonio Laranjo, is already working on the participation of Ukraine, which will soon incorporate the members of its delegation. The Ukrainian arrival does not alter the established roadmap: Spain maintains its eleven headquarters and Portugal will continue with three.

The bid of Spain, Portugal and Ukraine has the approval of both the Government and the Head of State, and it will meet all the deadlines set by FIFA. We hope that the world football family will embrace and support this initiative.

Welcome to the World Cup, Ukraine! GO 2030!
