Everything ready for the debut of Luis de la Fuente as coach

Once the board of directors of the Royal Spanish Football Federation approves, this Monday, the proposal of the sports management, Luis de la Fuente will be presented as the new Spanish National coach. The event is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. in the Luis Aragonés auditorium of the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas.

De la Fuente (Haro, 1961) until now led the under-21 team and has had a very successful career in the lower categories. Among other achievements, he was European champion in the under-19 (2015) and under-21 (2019) categories and also led Spain to Olympic silver at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

The sports management, after analyzing the situation of the National Team after the World Cup in Qatar, considers that De la Fuente, a great connoisseur of the youth academy, is the best option to continue promoting national football at the highest level. In March, in the first window of the qualifying phase for the 2024 Euro Cup in Germany, the man from La Rioja will debut his position with matches against Norway and Scotland.

The board of directors will be held at 11 a.m. during which the report that endorses the appointment of Luis de la Fuente will be considered. The presentation will be open to the media and broadcast live on the official channels of the RFEF, at 12:30 p.m.
