Fabián Ruiz: ‘Getting a good result here is important for the tie’.

Fabián Ruiz spoke to the media ahead of the UEFA Nations League quarter-final between Spain and the Netherlands. The international and PSG player looked forward to the match, saying: ‘We know it's a two-legged tie and how important it is. It would be good to get a positive result here, but we know we have the second leg at home. 

The midfielder analysed the national team's opponents: ‘They are a great team with players of great quality, we know about their physical strength, especially at set-pieces. They are aggressive, they have personality and they like to keep the ball like we do. It will be very difficult and it will come down to the finer details. 

‘With the boss, as well as having a good relationship, we understand each other's vision out on the pitch. I like my role and know what he asks of me. He's a coach who gives me confidence and freedom. He encourages me to shoot from outside the box and every time I come away with the national team I try to repay his faith in me,’ commented Fabián Ruiz on the national coach. 

On the fact that he has played 35 games without losing with Spain, the midfielder joked: ‘It's a good record, it's important to win, but we have to keep adding to it and secure as many victories as possible and it will be good for the national team’.
