Fabián Ruiz man of the match against Croatia

The Spain international scored the second goal and got the assist for the first in Spain's victory over Croatia

Spain’s joyful performance on the pitch of the Olympic Stadium in Berlin after the dazzling opening match against Croatia added to the good news in what was a perfect start for Spain.

UEFA named Fabián Ruiz as the man of the match in the Spain against Croatia match, which ended in a resounding three goals to nil victory to the Spanish side.

The Andalusian player played a key role in the victory, setting the tone in midfield, assisting Álvaro Morata for the first goal of the match and scoring the second with a powerful left-footed shot after showing some tidy feet to make space for the shot. 

Born in the Seville town of Los Palacios y Villafranca 28 years ago, Fabián made his senior international debut on 7 June 2019. The  he won the European Under-21 Championships with current national team coach Luis de la Fuente, who also placed his faith in his talent during the recent UEFA Nations League triumph.
