Fede Valverde: ‘The Super Cup is very important for our confidence’.

The Real Madrid midfielder took part in a press conference at the Ciudad Deportiva Rey Abdullah before training with the team in the final session ahead of the Spanish Super Cup final. ‘Tomorrow is a very important final, we're really looking forward to it,’ he began. 

‘The trophy is very important because of the confidence it gives you for the rest of the season. After six hard and important  months, now it's the second half of the season. The opponent we have tomorrow is very special and we hope to win in the best possible way’, said the Uruguayan international. 

On playing every game for Real Madrid: ‘I'm happy to play matches, especially as a starter. I'm very happy to have the confidence of the coach. I keep tallying up games at this club, I'm trying to leave a mark at Real Madrid. I'm proud that my family can see that I'm playing for this club, the best in the world. 

On the match against FC Barcelona: ‘If we win tomorrow, we will continue to show that we are the best team in the world. We can have bad games but at the end of the season we are the ones who win the titles’. 

Regarding the last clásico they played, Fede Valverde concluded: ‘On the day of the 0-4 defeat it was hard to get to sleep, we didn't expect that result. We believed we could win, we had chances to score. We didn't concentrate in the second half and we didn't do things perfectly and that hurt us’.
