Federations Cup Semi-Finalists through to Copa del Rey First Round Draw
UD Poblense, SD Compostela, Las Rozas CF and CD Extremadura will play for a place in the final of the Federations Cup and are through to this season’s knockout rounds of the tournament.
On Wednesday afternoon, the quarter-final matches were played in a round that saw some extremely tight ties that were all decided by one goal, except for the last match that was decided in the penalty shootout.
UD Poblense secured their place in the semi-finals thanks to a Diego goal from the penalty spot against CF La Nucía. This solitary goal was the key to the club reaching the semi-finals and tomorrow they will discover their opponent for the Copa del Rey First Round at 13:00. SD Compostela and Las Rozas CF sealed their passage at the same time. The Galicians won thanks to a single goal from Ocaña off a corner. There were more goals in the match between the Madrid side and CD Cazalegas, which the home side won thanks to a brace from José Luis Cano and another from Álvaro Escolano.
