Fernando Sanz, RFEF's new Director of International Business Development.
His work will be related, among other issues, to the international expansion of the RFEF brand.
Fernando Sanz (Madrid, 1974) joins the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) as the new Director of International Business Development. Sanz will be involved in matters of brand expansion and international marketing. He will also be involved in the 2030 World Cup bid, and in the major events organized by the RFEF, such as the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
Sanz thus returns to an RFEF of which he was already a member of the Board of Directors between 2007 and 2010, coinciding with his presidency of Málaga C.F. (2006-2010). In that club he concluded a successful career as a player that also led him to wear the jerseys of the Spanish Union of Chile, Real Madrid Castilla (2nd Division) and the first team of Real Madrid.
With the white team, Fernando Sanz was champion of the European Cup and the Intercontinental Cup, champion of the Spanish League and champion of the Spanish Super Cup. With Málaga C.F., he also won the Intertoto UEFA Cup.
The appointment of Fernando Sanz comes to reinforce a strategic area for the RFEF, such as the international projection of Spanish football. The task performed so far by Sanz accredits him as a great value in the matter, after having been director of International Institutional Relations of LaLiga (2019-2022) or general director for the Middle East and North Africa of the aforementioned entity (2013-2019).
In addition to these positions, he has also held the positions of director of Sports Projects and director of the Ambassadors and Legends Project; and, before joining the RFEF, he was the president of the LaLiga Foundation.
