Frenchman François Letexier to take charge of Euro 2024 final

The French referee, who has already officiated Spain in their Last 16 tie against Georgia, will be assisted on the sidelines by his compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni.

The showpiece match of the 17th UEFA European Championships has now been assigned with François Letexier, the French referee, as head match official for the clash at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin at 9 p.m. on Sunday 14 July.

Born 35 years ago in Brittany, France, Letexier has already refereed the Spanish national team in the Last 16 tie against Georgia in Cologne, as well as in the Nations League match against the Czech Republic on 5 June 2022 in Prague, which ended in a two all draw.

The Breton referee will be assisted on the sidelines by his compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, while Poland's Szymon Marciniak will act as fourth official.

François Letexier has worn the international referee's badge for the past seven years, having officiated in important matches in the history of Spanish football such as the UEFA Europa League final between Villarreal CF and Manchester United in 2021 and last year's European Super Cup title decider between Sevilla FC and Manchester City.
