No team has ever won by more than two goals so far in the World Cup and Spain did just that on Friday in Wellington.
Spain's win over Costa Rica puts Jorge Vilda's team as the clear leader of World Cup group C, pending Saturday's match between Zambia and Japan in the city of Hamilton.
The current group standings are as follows:
