Historic! The final between Spain and England breaks audience records in Spain

Nearly six million viewers on average tuned in to the match on La 1 of Televisión Española, a 65.7% audience share

The Spanish Women's National Football Team continues to break records and ignite passions both on and off the field. The players led by Jorge Vilda made history yesterday by becoming world champions for the first time.

In addition to marking the first star for our team, the final set a new all-time audience record for women's football in Spain.

The final had 8,858,000 unique viewers and an average of nearly six million (5,599,000 viewers), reaching a 65.7% audience share.

The peak moment of the grand final that crowned Spain as world champions was at 2:02 PM, with 7,382,000 viewers and a 71.1% share, coinciding with the last minutes of the match.

La 1 of TVE was the most-watched channel in that time slot with a 22.8% share, well above other broadcasts.

 

 

The pre-match coverage of the grand final had an average audience of 1,596,000 viewers, accounting for 34.2% of the total. The post-match coverage was watched by 6,226,000 viewers, making up 59.6% of the total, and reaching up to 8,672,000 unique viewers.
