How the visually impaired enjoyed Spain-Georgia

Descriptive narration for the visually impaired was broadcast live from the José Zorrilla Stadium in Valladolid, in a new service launched by the RFEF in 2022.

The Spain-Georgia match played in Valladolid last Sunday, which helped the Spanish national team to secure their place in the group stage draw for the European Championships to be held on 2 December, was a new opportunity for visually impaired people to enjoy our national team.

This is due to the fact that, once again, the match had special narration for visually impaired people, as has been the case since last year when all the senior men's national team matches started being commentated on for these fans using technology that also allowed them to enjoy the senior women's national team match against Switzerland in Cordoba.

The RFEF's descriptive narration system allows visually impaired people to fully immerse themselves in the excitement of each match and feel the intensity of each goal.

This is an initiative that the Royal Spanish Football Federation backed 18 months ago in order to give this section of the fan base the opportunity to experience Spanish football.

With the audio description system, Spanish football becomes an inclusive sensory experience, where every moment can be followed while fully knowing what's happening on the pitch and feeling the emotion of the match, meaning everyone can enjoy matches to the full.
