Japan, Brazil and South Africa or Nigeria will be Spain's rivals at the Olympic Games

The draw for sports’ showpiece event was held in Paris on Wednesday, 20 March 2024.

The reigning World Champions and recent winners of the UEFA Women's Nations League have been drawn to face their opponents at the Paris 2024 Olympic Tournament, which will be the Spanish Women’s first appearance at the event.

Japan, Brazil and either South Africa or Nigeria, who are still to play, will be the opponents the Spanish national team must overcome if they are to advance to the quarter-finals of the Olympic Games. The competition kicks off on 24 July and ends on 9 August 2024.

The national team make their debut in the Olympic Football Tournament against Japan on 25 July at 17.00 in Nantes. The second match will be between Spain and Brazil on 28 July at 7 p.m. in Nantes and they end the group stage against either South Africa or Nigeria on 31 July at 5 p.m. in Bordeaux.

Spain qualified for the Games after beating the Netherlands in the Women’s Nations League Final Four at La Cartuja in Seville in February.

The Women's Olympic Football Tournament will be played across seven venues: Paris, Nantes, Bordeaux, Marseille, Nice, Saint-Étienne and Lyon. The Olympic football competition kicks off on 25 July, one day before the official opening ceremony, and goes through to 10 August, when the two finalists will compete for the gold medal.
