Javi goes full circle with his lucky shirt

"Even the badge is old", confesses Javier Gómez to his friend Marina Sureda, a member of RCD Mallorca fan club like him and who will be a fellow supporter from the stands at Son Moix.

Both have been able to meet the Spain players thanks to his friend Marina, who won a prize and who thought of inviting her friend Javier as a companion to this event only a few hours before the match between Spain and Northern Ireland in the Balearic capital.

After receiving the invitation without quite believing it, Javier went to meet Mikel Oyarzabal, Dani Carvajal and Jesús Navas while wearing his lucky shirt: a national team shirt bought 18 years ago, just before the 2006 World Cup in Germany, and with which he has celebrated all the titles won by Spain’s favourite team.

"I'm very fond of this shirt, he admits, and today it has been signed by a world champion, Jesús Navas," says Javi, who will be wearing the same shirt for another major tournament in Germany, this time the European Championships: "This time I want to celebrate the fourth European Championships won by Spain with the same shirt on  in Plaza de Colón", he admits hopefully.
