Jesús Navas reaches 50 caps for Spain

The Andalusian player made his debut for the national team in 2009 and, at the age of 38, continues to add to his legendary status.

Making his debut on 14 November 2009 at the Vicente Calderón stadium in Madrid with eight minutes remaining in a match between Spain and Argentina, Vicente del Bosque decided to bring on the young Andalusian full-back who would turn only 24 a week later.

Jesús Navas González came on to replace Andrés Iniesta a few months before the team embarked on the most successful run in its history, one that was to give us the World Cup winner's medal in South Africa, the player he came on for brought us victory with a volley for the ages.

One World Cup, one European Championships and one Nations League later, won over three different decades, the player from Los Palacios y Villafranca has reached 50 caps wearing everyone's favourite shirt..

His half century of caps came in Limassol and against Cyprus in a qualifier for Euro 2024. Jesús Navas once again defended the national team colours and did so as a starter less than a week before his 38th birthday, furthermore he does so with the same commitment as on 14 November 2009.
