Khalifa, a historic stadium to seal a place in the round of 16 at the World Cup in Qatar

The Spanish national team will play their third and final group stage match in the World Cup against Japan at the Khalifa International Stadium. It is a historic venue that dates from 50 years old and has been remodelled for the tournament. The stands have witnessed matches of the greatest rivalry in competitions such as the Asian Cup, the Asian Games and the Arabian Gulf Cup.
It has a capacity for 40,000 spectators and it will host the Spanish national team match. It makes the sixth match played there in this World Cup. It will also be the venue for one of the round of 16 matches and the match in which the third and fourth place will be decided.
