If it is estimated that the human soul weighs 21.2 grams, then then soul of a team adds up to as much as the weight of its shirt. Some 800 members of the Spanish Women's National Team have been in New Zealand for weeks to make the World Cup dream of an entire country come true.

Those responsible for them and for all the material used by the Spanish expedition down under go by the names of José Luis Hidalgo, José Luis González and Miguel Ángel Puebla, and their duties include printing each jersey with the distinctive signs that make it unique.

"It's a challenge," explains González, "because in each match we have to personalise two kits for each of the players with their name, their number, the caption with the match details, the World Cup logo and the slogan that says that football unites the world, a phrase that I particularly like."

The smooth running of the squad is thus in the hands of these three experienced professionals, whose work begins up to two months before the ball starts rolling, especially with the enormous distances between the home of the national team in the Ciudad del Fútbol and the venue of the tournament, right on the other side of the world.

For this reason, José Luis Hidalgo points out that "we had to previously send some 200 packages of material by international air transport, to clear customs so that they would be waiting for us on our arrival in Auckland, we also took another 120-130 packages with everything we needed for the tournament with us".

Among all the belongings, there is a very special one already prepared: the World Cup final pennant with which the captain of the national team hopes to give to her rival in the run-up to a match they have all been dreaming of on 20 August in Sydney.
