The headquarters of the bank Cajalmendralejo (Badajoz) was the venue chosen to host the twelfth edition of the La Roja's Legal Conference (Jornadas Jurídicas de La Roja). To mark the occasion of the international friendly match between Spain and Andorra tomorrow, Wednesday 5 June at the Nuevo Vivero Stadium, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, in collaboration with the Extremadura Football Federation, was responsible for organising the event, which was a great success.

Among the authorities in attendance were Álvaro de Miguel, General Secretary of the RFEF; Ángeles Aguilera, President of the Management Board of the Extremadura Federation; Javier Píriz, Director of the Cajalmendralejo Legal Unit, and Santiago Amaro, Director General of Sports of the Extremadura Regional Government.

Álvaro de Miguel, General Secretary of the RFEF: ‘These conferences are important to raise awareness of the work done by RFEF professionals’.

In his speech, the general secretary, Álvaro de Miguel, took time to praise the work of the employees of the Royal Spanish Football Federation in all areas related to law: ‘Legal matters are present in practically everything the RFEF does. These conferences are important to raise awareness of the work done by RFEF professionals’.

For her part, Ángeles Aguilera, president of the Managing Board of the Extremadura Federation, expressed how proud Badajoz is to host the country’s favourite team. In addition, she also stressed the responsibility of the leaders of world football to make it a fair and transparent sport: ‘Behind every match, every tournament and every club, there is a legal framework that guarantees justice, fairness and transparency. It is our responsibility, as leaders and members of this sporting community, to ensure that the sport we love takes place in a sound and well-regulated legal environment.

The Spanish national team matches thrill all football fans in the communities they visit. For that reason Santiago Amaro, Director General of Sports, spoke about the work done by the Junta de Extremadura to ensure that tomorrow the Estadio Nuevo Vivero will be adorned with red in the packed stands: ‘Our obsession has always been to bring the national team to Extremadura. We have finally achieved it and this also allows us to enjoy such interesting events such as this one’.
