Lamine Yamal continues to break records in national team colours. This Saturday, the forward became the youngest player in history to play in a European Championships, an impressive step for a player who is increasingly looking like a generational talent.
He was 16 years and 57 days old when he made his debut for Spain, scoring in a match in Georgia to break yet another record. Now, at 16 years, 11 months and two days old, he can boast of being the youngest player in the history of the continental tournament, with Poland's Kacper Kozlowski having previously held that privilege at 17 years and 246 days.
With his presence in Luis de la Fuente's starting line-up for the match against Croatia, Lamine also breaks another record as the youngest starter at a European Championships, a record previously held for more than a decade by Jetro Willems of the Netherlands, who started the Netherlands-Denmark match on 9 June 2012 at the age of 18 years and 71 days.
