Latest meeting of the Morocco-Portugal-Spain Joint Bid Committee for the FIFA 2030 World Cup takes place in Agadir
The Joint Morocco-Portugal-Spain Bid Committee for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, YallaVamos2030, met in Agadir on 27 and 28 June. The main objective of this working meeting and venue inspection was to finalise the details of the joint bid before its final presentation at the end of July.
Importantly, during its discussions, the tripartite committee also wished to reiterate that no final decisions have yet been taken regarding the number of stadiums, their geographical distribution or the allocation of matches per country. Any official information on this matter will be communicated through official channels.
On the first day, representatives of the three countries' bid committees carried out inspections at several key locations in Agadir, including the city's Grand Stadium. The delegation also assessed potential sites for the FIFA Fan Fest, with the iconic Agadir beach as the main option. The seaside resort of Taghazout was also explored as a potential venue for the teams' base camps (TBC).
On the second day, Friday 28, a virtual meeting was held with FIFA representatives, focusing on the process and progress of the bid. Subsequently, working sessions were held within the Organising Committee to review various aspects and make adjustments to the joint bid dossier.
The committee highlights the excellent collaboration established between all parties involved; and reaffirms its commitment to working closely with FIFA and the local authorities in each country to present a strong bid for the 2030 World Cup.
