The RFEF has the contractual rights to extend his contract until 2026.
At this Thursday’s meeting, The RFEF's Management Committee authorised the Federation's bodies to activate the contract extension clause included in the national team coach Luis de la Fuente’s contract. This will allow for the extension of the working relationship between the two parties until 2026, when the next FIFA World Cup takes place in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The Management Committee considers the renewal of De la Fuente's contract to be a vital step for the national team squad’s development, as well as for the institution that runs Spanish football, providing stability to the national team in the run up the European Championships next June.
