On a day that already stands out from the rest due to the pre-match preparations being done and the publication of the final squad list for the European Championships, Luis de la Fuente wanted above all to express words of gratitude, both for the fans who welcomed the national team in Mallorca, and to Rafa Nadal for his participation in the emotional video that revealed the names of the 26 players who will travel to Germany, and to the three players who have left the training camp this Friday.

"I want to thank the players who have been with us. The attitude of Marcos, Pau and Aleix made us better,’ said the coach, who considers his final squad for the European Championships as ’very balanced because I think we have all the positions covered with players of different profiles. It will be an honour to lead them.

The coach then talked over numerous names from his final squad for the Euros, and despite highlighting the individual qualities of the players, he constantly emphasised that their talent must be at the service of the team, while revealing that all the players are in perfect condition for the second and final warm-up match this Saturday against Northern Ireland at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

The support of the fans for this vital test before the trip to Germany is crucial. As such, De la Fuente made a public appeal to all the fans, saying ‘it is time to ask for the support of the fans, for them to be close to the team,’ he concluded in his heartfelt shout out to the fans who are bound to pack out the stands of the Balearic stadium tomorrow.
