Luis de la Fuente: "We are out here to give it our all"

The national team coach spoke to the media ahead of the Cyprus-Spain match, confirming that all 25 players in the squad are all fit and available for selection.

One day before playing the penultimate match of the year and the penultimate qualifier for Euro 2024, Luis de la Fuente insisted on the importance and impact of the match despite already having qualified for the continental event, "we are working to be better every day, we want to be more competitive every day and we are preparing for the European Championship in the best conditions".

Regarding the clash against Cyprus, the coach stressed that they are going to treat it like a final, "we are going to play the game as well as we possibly can. We have to give the impression to our rivals that we are a strong, powerful team. At international level, there's no room for half measures". Although he insisted that there is still a long way to go and commented that "we have a great responsibility to represent our country in the best way possible".

 

 

 

The national coach confirmed that all 25 internationals called up for the last two games of the year are available for Thursday's match in Limassol and praised those called up, saying that "I don't call players for nothing".

 

When asked what he expects from the match against the Cypriot side, Luis de la Fuente stressed that "I would like to see that we have come on a little more, there is always room for improvement. We want to be better every day".
