Luis Rubiales, appointed chairman of the UEFA Club Licensing Committee

UEFA has appointed Luis Rubiales president of the Club Licensing Committee, in recognition of his good management as the head of the RFEF. The committee is extremely important for the correct functioning of the European competitions organized by UEFA.

The UEFA Club Licensing Committee deals with all regulations related to licenses and financial sustainability of clubs, both for men and women. This regulation establishes the necessary requirements for all entities that participate in continental events and sets requirements that range from the economic, sports, infrastructure, legal and management aspects...

Luis Rubiales has said goodbye to the UEFA Development and Technical Assistance committee - of which he was president - with a few words of gratitude for the good work done and has promised to continue working to improve in every way he can from his new post. He also wanted to thank the UEFA president for having confidence in him. UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin is committed to the RFEF president due to his leadership skills and good management and believes he will give the committee new impetus.

For this appointment, UEFA took into account the notable economic management practices that have been established in recent years with Luis Rubiales as the head of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, as well as the implementation of new competition models such as the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup and their successful development, being a victory on both a sporting and entertainment level.

The UEFA club licensing system is recognized as one of the largest and most extensive governance projects in football. The main objective of the system is to continuously promote and raise standards in all aspects of football in Europe within a transparent and efficient regulatory framework.
