Luis Rubiales’ beneficial business trip to Guatemala, Korea and Japan
The president returns after numerous events and meetings that reinforce the RFEF's strategic and commercial plan.
Luis Rubiales has returned to Spain after leading a business trip on behalf of the Royal Spanish Football Federation with several stops and numerous tasks. The trip was full of very productive, working days and has served the Federation in reaffirming their commitment to growth at the international level, remaining at the forefront as a reference in all areas and reinforcing its strategic and commercial plan.
Guatemala was the first stop on this trip. Luis Rubiales attended the 38th CONCACAF congress, where the Canadian, Victor Montagliani, was re-elected as president to serve a new term (2023-2027). At the meeting, Rubiales had the opportunity to meet with the presidents of several of the 41 national federations that are members of the Confederation, and also coincided with the head of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, who was also invited to the Congress.
The RFEF expedition moved from Guatemala to South Korea, where the agenda was intensified with multiple meetings and events. Rubiales presented, before a large media presence, the agreement between the Federation and 3D Factory, a South Korean company leader in the metaverse that became the main sponsor of the RFEF at the end of last year.
In addition to conducting numerous interviews, the interest in the presence of the RFEF president and the agreement with 3D Factory was very high. Luis Rubiales had meetings with different personalities from the Asian country such as senior officials from the Ministry of Sports or the mayor of Seoul, Oh Se-hoon.
The RFEF also, as a result of its firm commitment to promote the good development of football in all areas and always counting on the grassroots, sealed an alliance with the South Korean Football Association, thus endorsing the beneficial relations between the two entities.
Luis Rubiales and his counterpart Chung Mong-gyu signed a collaboration agreement between the two federations (memorandum of understanding) that includes the permanent exchange of knowledge and experience in highly relevant areas such as marketing, communication and strategy. Work will also be carried out in the technological area, in training and in working with the grassroots of football, which is essential for growth.
The last stop on the trip was Japan. In Tokyo, the excellent harmony between the RFEF and the Japanese Football Association was consolidated, working hand in hand since they signed, in 2020, a collaboration agreement that was later renewed, specifically during the World Cup in Qatar. President Kohzo Tashima gave Rubiales and the federation delegation a warm welcome in a very cordial summit to strengthen the ties of this strategic alliance with Japan and consolidate the RFEF brand on the Asian continent.
Jorge Mowinckel, RFEF's Director of Strategy and International Relations, Rubén Rivera, Director of Marketing, and Albert Luque, Director of the National Team, accompanied President Rubiales during this business trip, which boosts the Federation at an international level and confirms the interest in its management beyond our borders.
