The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Luis Rubiales, chaired the UEFA Technical Development Committee in Madrid on Thursday, a very productive meeting to address a number of issues affecting grassroots football and the development of talent.

The meeting brought to the table important issues such as technical development, the Grassroots program and the training of coaches in Europe. Frank Ludolph, Head of Technical Development at UEFA, stressed the importance of education at all levels of football and the fundamental role of coaches.

The committee, which for the first time was held in Madrid and was divided into two blocks, also served to deepen the analysis of the performance of players in matches and the novelties of Grassroots, a recreational program for anyone who wants to enjoy and have fun playing football.

President Rubiales will inform his colleagues on the UEFA Executive Committee next Tuesday in Lisbon of all the decisions taken at the meeting, as well as the proposals and timetable to be followed.
