Luis Rubiales presides over the official reception ceremony of the Spanish Supercopa

The Spanish embassy building in Saudi Arabia has hosted this event with the presence of the top leaders of the finalist clubs, as well as sports representatives and distinguished members of the local government, such as the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Asian country, Waleed Al-Khuraiji

"For the RFEF it represents a tremendous honor to organize this Sunday the most desired match in the world." With these words, the president of the governing body of Spanish football has summed up the feelings of all the fans just 24 hours before the grand final of the Spanish Supercopa.

During the official reception of the tournament, held on Saturday afternoon at the Spanish embassy in Saudi Arabia, Luis Rubiales thanked the presidents of the territorial federations, the members of the Board of Directors and the RFEF as a whole for the success of the new format of this competition that, once again, "makes the growth of this tournament possible and represents an enormous help for all football in our country".

The Spanish ambassador in Saudi Arabia, Jorge Hevia Sierra, welcomed the attendees, stressing "the pride of having two great teams in the final, with special mention to the semifinalists Valencia CF and Real Betis, who have given their all to a tournament resolved from a penalty shootout in their first two qualifiers".

On behalf of Real Madrid CF, its president, Florentino Pérez, pointed out that "there's nothing better than a clásico to promote Spanish football on any continent".

An idea taken up and expanded by the president of FC Barcelona, ​​Joan Laporta, for whom "the clásico is the best show in the world and that is how we understand it and it acts as a bridge between different people and cultures".

The commitment acquired is firm and notorious in this sense through different initiatives adopted in pursuit of improving the football practiced by women in Saudi Arabia, whose women's team will be part of the FIFA world ranking for the first time.
