Luis Rubiales meets with Orlando Leite, Ambassador of Brazil

The RFEF and the Brazilian Embassy in Spain reinforce their commitment to the fight against racism

Luis Rubiales received Orlando Leite, Brazil's ambassador to Spain, this Friday at the Ciudad del Fútbol in Las Rozas, with whom he reinforced the message of zero tolerance against racism promoted by the Royal Spanish Football Federation after the unfortunate episode experienced by Vinicius in Valencia.

The two entities have agreed that racism has no place in football and have pledged to work together to fight against these totally inappropriate and reportable attitudes that have nothing to do with the sport and its values.

During the meeting, Luis Rubiales summarized to Orlando Leite aspects of the campaign “Racistas, fuera del fútbol” (Racists, out of football) promoted by the RFEF and explained details of the activities that are being carried out in all stadiums, pavilions and beaches of the national territory where football is played.

Players, technical staff and referees will symbolize with a gesture, before the start of each match, their rejection of racist and xenophobic attitudes. The gesture chosen is the "stop" sign, with an outstretched hand, replicating the image established by the RFEF for its campaign.
